Emergency Preparedness

Learning simple life-saving skills like CPR/AED, First Aid, and Bleed Control can make the difference between life and death in an emergency—often before professional help arrives. These are not just skills for medical professionals; they’re for everyday people who want to be ready when it matters most. Our non-certification classes are designed to make this knowledge accessible and empowering, giving you the confidence to act in critical situations without the pressure of earning a certification. While some roles and situations may require official certification, our courses offer a vital first step in understanding how to help others—and possibly save a life—without hesitation.

First Aid (Non- Certification Course)

When attending to someone in an emergency, it is important to take a deep breath and try and keep calm. Trying to treat someone that may be hurt or injured while you are “worked up” does not help the person experiencing the actual emergency.

Remember this is their emergency, not yours. You will need to think and act in the best interests of the injured.

Always remember to “do something”. Attending to an injured person will make your adrenaline increase and it will trigger what is called the “fight or Flight” response. The main factor to consider is doing something to help. The fact is that 9 out of 10 people will not initiate First Aid or CPR when faced with these critical emergencies. There are a lot of reasons why, but the plain and simple of it comes down to “the human condition”. The reality is when you are faced with an “adrenaline dump” and the blood flows away from your outer extremities and your brain, you are faced with what you have prepared for. The body and the brain do not always instinctually act accordingly. As stated above, the fact is most people go into the “freeze” and do nothing.

B.L.E.E.D. Program

BBe Safe (Ensure the scene is safe for you and the victim)

LLocate the Bleed (Find the source of bleeding quickly)

EExpose the Wound (Remove clothing to see the injury clearly)

EElevate & Apply Pressure (Use direct pressure and elevate if possible)

DDress or Device (Apply bandages, tourniquet, or hemostatic agent if needed)

This training is simple and effective ways to identify and to help stop bleeding. We will talk about the different types of bleeding that can occur. We then want to understand what it means and what the implications can be for each type of bleed and how it correlates to its specific location on the body. They want to understand the treatment in an emergency. This class is about 1 hour long and is a great add- on to other programs or can be taught stand alone.

CPR AND FIRST AID (Non- Certification Course)

CPR, or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, is a hands-on technique used to keep blood and oxygen flowing when someone's heart stops beating. While the goal is the same for all ages—preserve life until professional help arrives—the approach changes with age. When available, an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) analyzes the heart rhythm and may deliver a shock to restore a normal beat—Fast action with age-appropriate techniques can bridge the gap between crisis and survival.

What to do in an emergency, when seconds count and help is minutes or longer away. We can cover the following without certification:

  • Infants
  • Children
  • Adults
  • CPR
  • Choking and CPR
